The university housing project presented a unique opportunity to develop distinctive spaces that set it apart from typical residential developments found in major Brazilian cities. To achieve this, the project was designed around a rectangular structure centered on an open void, optimizing land use while fostering new perspectives and interactions within the complex. Balancing academic and social life, the design featured transitional rings that transitioned from intimate private areas to larger communal environments. The outer ring included individual dormitories for privacy and study, followed by an intermediate ring of shared living spaces. Additionally, circulation areas around the central void served as both passageways and gathering spots, with the void itself functioning as the heart of the complex, promoting socialization and community interaction.
